Physiological Detoxification:
The human body has a natural detoxification system that includes the liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin. These organs work continuously to eliminate toxins and waste products.
Since we are exposed to so many more chemicals and synthetic products now, our bodies can have a difficult time detoxing all the toxins, especially when we are eating foods that are not ideal for our bodies.
Because of the poor nutrition and many environmental factors that we are being bombarded with today, it is important to be detoxing at least two times a year. I generally do a detox 9with a parasite cleanse) with the changing of the seasons.
Detoxification Benefits:
-Improve digestion
-Increase energy levels
-Reduce inflammation
-Boost the immune system
-Improve skin health
-Weight loss
Detoxing is not just about food, but a lifestyle! Cleaning up your home environment, the products you use in and on your body, the water you drink, shower, and use for your food, the household products you use, the cookware and storage you use for your food-can all influence your overall wellbeing.
Why we need to detox:
-stressful lifestyle and disregulated nervous system
- GMO foods and most conventional foods are heavily sprayed with pesticides
- Poor nutrition - fast foods, processed foods, packaged foods devoid of nutrients
-Malabsorption of nutrients- bodies that are so acidic with gut issues and parasites
-Contaminated water full of fluoride, pharmaceuticals, and other toxins
-Polluted air
-synthetic personal care products made from chemicals and plastic
-Indoor contaminants such as mold, synthetic home products like fragrances, plastic, etc.
What I recommend:
-At least twice a year detox with a parasite cleanse
-Buying all produce organic or at least the dirty dozen
-Making most of your meals, getting rid of processed foods, or finding a meal prep service that uses organic produce and minimal processed items
-Switching out your household products for natural or homemade ones
-Switching out your cookware and food storage for stainless steel, cast iron, glass or wood
-Switching out your personal care items for natural or homemade ones
-Switching out polyester and synthetic fibers for natural fibers like organic cotton, hemp, linen
-Getting water filters for drinking water, showers, and kitchen sink
-Getting air filters for the house: I like AirDoctor!
